Overview

Marketing Planner is a multi-channel campaign management tool for email and SMS marketing. It provides a visual email template editor (React Email Editor), audience segment builder, campaign scheduling, and Highcharts-powered performance analytics.

Business value

Runs targeted email and SMS campaigns from inside the CRM — no separate marketing platform required. Segments are built directly from CRM data, so targeting is always up to date.

  • Who uses it: Marketing managers, CRM admins, demand-gen teams
  • Key benefit: Reach specific customer segments with personalised campaigns without exporting data to an external tool.
  • Metrics it influences: Email open rate, click-through rate, campaign-attributed leads, SMS delivery rate

Typical use cases:

  • Monthly newsletter to all active clients segmented by industry
  • Promotional SMS blast to clients with lapsed activity in the last 90 days
  • Re-engagement email series for leads who went cold after the first contact
  • Post-event follow-up email with customised content per attendee segment

Key concepts

Concept Description
Campaign A named sending initiative with a defined audience, channel, schedule, and content
Segment A dynamic group of clients or leads defined by CRM field criteria
Email Template A reusable email design built with the drag-and-drop React Email Editor
SMS Template A reusable text message with merge fields
Channel Email or SMS; configured per campaign

Common actions

  1. Create campaign — define the campaign name, channel, segment, and schedule.
  2. Build audience segment — use the segment builder to filter clients/leads by any CRM field.
  3. Design email template — open the drag-and-drop editor to create responsive HTML emails.
  4. Create SMS template — write a text template with personalisation merge fields.
  5. Schedule or send — set a send date/time or trigger an immediate send.
  6. View analytics — track opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes in the Highcharts dashboard.
  7. Manage sending limits — configure daily/hourly email caps to protect deliverability.
Tip

Configure daily/hourly email sending limits in settings before launching a large campaign — exceeding your email provider's rate limits can trigger deliverability problems that affect all outbound email from the platform, not just the campaign.

Note

Segments in Marketing Planner are evaluated from live CRM data at send time. If a contact's field value changes between segment creation and campaign send, the audience reflects the current state, not the state when you designed the segment.
